Wexford Launches Vibrant Gathering Calendar of Events for 2013 Gathering Ireland
Wexford was quick off the mark today (Sunday, November 18) as they are the first County to unveil their official calendar of events for the Gathering Ireland 2013.
The Southeast County is welcoming visitors onto the shores of the Wexford to enjoy a variety of festivals, events, clan gatherings and conferences.
Commenting at the launch today (Sunday, November 18) Wexford Gathering Co-ordinator Amanda Byrne said, “We are delighted to be launching our Wexford Gathering calendar, already there is a variety of over 20 different events ranging from a gathering of Lighthouse Keepers at Hook Lighthouse to a celebration of everything maritime at the festival celebrating John Barry a Wexford man and founder of the U.S. Navy at the John Barry Maritime Festival, an even bigger Wexford Opera Festival and New Ross will be celebrating and remembering the momentous occasion of the visit of John F. Kennedy fifty years on plus Ireland’s 4th of July celebration will also be in full swing in New Ross as the town hosts the second annual ‘Irish America Day’ plus there is much more.
The variety and themes of all of these events are reaching out to our Wexford and Irish diaspora all across the world and we are very much looking forward to welcoming home all of our visitors in 2013. We will also be unveiling further events in the coming weeks.”
