Duncannon Smokehouse, the family business of master smokers of salmon and trout for almost 40 years, is delighted to be selected as a recipient of a prestigious Great Taste Award from the Guild of Fine Food in the United Kingdom.
Great Taste is the biggest independent benchmarking scheme for local, regional and speciality foods in Britain as well as Ireland and entries are received from all over the world. It is seen by many as one of the most trusted and recognised food and drink awards in Europe.
This award comes at an exciting time for Duncannon Smokehouse as it this week launches 5 new products:

New brand design and packaging has been developed for the range as a result of working with Bord Bia, who is working with the business on developing an export market in Germany, Switzerland and the UK.
Duncannon Smokehouse was established almost forty years ago by Frank Ronan and is now run by his son Kai Ronan and his partner Lee Lawrence who are carrying on the tradition of the master smoker.
Duncannon Smokehouse has seen an increase in their sales over the past year which gives them the confidence to launch a renewed brand into the market.
The owners cite the Mount Juliet Artisan Food and Craft Fair of December 2011 as a catalyst in deciding to invest in growing the smokehouse business.
